Dear CAMP Members and Supporters,
Assalamu Alaikum and on behalf of CAMP, I'd like to wish you a happy new year. I do hope you've had a chance to rest, relax and recharge over the winter break. In this the first newsletter of the year I'd like to introduce you to your CAMP team, but first I am thrilled to announce that details for our Summit have now been finalized - the 6th CAMP Leadership Summit will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal in New Jersey.
The Leadership Summit is our defining event and has grown from strength to strength every year. To ensure that the sixth installment is the best one yet, Shabana and her team have been busy for months now developing the program and securing keynote speakers and panelists that will inspire us to grow as leaders. At last year's summit, we increased our focus on skill-building activities by offering a number of interactive workshops that allowed attendees hands-on experience to develop and sharpen their skills in, for example, negotiating and networking. This year, we will continue to focus on skill-building with the use of instructors, who generously donate their time and materials, and whose expertise is valued at thousands of dollars.
So mark your calendars! Buy your tickets now while early bird pricing is still available, and come find out why the CAMP Leadership Summit has become the must-attend event on the Muslim professional calendar. Our Leadership Summit website will be up shortly with all the details - look for it on our homepage.
2013 CAMP Team
Celebrating its 19th year, CAMP today is one of the oldest and largest Muslim professional organizations in the United States. CAMP's success is due to members and supporters, but would not be where it is today if it weren't for its officers. These officers dedicate countless hours, and do so entirely on a volunteer-basis, to help CAMP continue to provide a platform for Muslim American professionals to connect, lead and inspire.
I am honored to work alongside these exceptionally dedicated and talented individuals at both theNational level with Uzma Kaleem (Deputy Executive Director), Sabrina Qureshi (Finance and Operations Director), Shabana Ather (Summit Director) and Zainab Chaudary (Communications Director), as well as at the chapter level, where Asma Hashmi in Chicago, Rama Shmeis in New Jersey, Shezi Sardar in New York, Samia Siddiqui in Philadelphia and Kamal Solaiman in Washington D.C lead some great teams.
We are always looking for more dedicated individuals to join our team and for contributions from our supporters and sponsors to help us, so please feel free to contact me with your thoughts, ideas, and interests.
Thank you again for your support, and I look forward to seeing you on March 23rd!
Imran Eba, Executive Director, CAMP
