Join us for a Sunday brunch to kick off the new year! We're happy to hostUnity Productions Founation (UPF) and will discuss how they use mainstream media to showcase Muslims in a positive light. It's going to be a good time with delicious food and excellent company--we'll see you there!
From the makers of Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet, UPF has developed a number of programs and strategies to counter Islamophobia. This presentation will address some of these areas of work and ways CAMP members can take part:
* Educating Policymakers: UPF films have made an impact at the US Department of Justice, State, and more.
* A Heroic Muslim Woman: a documentary in development about Noor Khan, a forgotten WWII hero.
* 20,000 Dialogues: helping schools, churches, libraries, learn about Muslims through film.
* My Fellow American: celebrities and everyday Americans share stories about Muslims they know and love.
and about UPF's successful outreach efforts in Hollywood to share facts and research regarding Muslims on television and in film
