CAMP Chicago June Power Hour: Lead your life, Lead the world.
Don't miss CAMP-Chicago's upcoming monthly Power Hour on Wednesday, June 27th. Our speaker for this event will be Arshia Ali-Khan, Director of Business Development and Marketing at the UMMA Center.
Get involved in the conversation. Lead your life, Lead the world. In 2012, there are still hundreds of thousands of people in Illinois that go to bed hungry, adults who are without employment, and children who grow up without any books in their homes. In the past 7 years, the UMMA Center has been transforming the inner cities of Waukegan and North Chicago by bridging the large Social-Economic gap in Lake County. By following transformational leadership principals, the UMMA center has fed, clothed, and educated over 25,000 residents living below the poverty line. As an organization the UMMA Center has demonstrated over a 200% growth rate. Starting with a modest budget of $24,000 and running on volunteers in 2004, to a growing budget of 200K and a paid staff of six employees in 2012.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a transformational leader who taught us how to make the seemingly impossible, possible. Following in His (PBUH) blessed footsteps; the UMMA Center strives to do the same.
