CAMP DC LAUNCH (Session 2)
WHEN: Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 6:00 PM
WHERE: Teaism -- see http://www.teaism.com/Restaurant/PennQuarter7.html. The location is Metro accessible—a 2 minute walk from the Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station (accessible via the Yellow, Green, Orange and Blue lines) and a 5 minute walk from the Gallery Place/Chinatown station (Red, Yellow and Green lines). In addition there is limited street parking and 2 parking garages within a ½ block.
FOR WHO: Mid- to senior-level Muslim professionals who are driven toward professional excellence and who also seek to make a contribution to our Muslim community.
COST: $0 for this initial event. However, the restaurant is providing free meeting space with the expectation every attendee will be buying something to eat and drink.
REGISTRATION: Due to space constraints at the restaurant and given high demand to attend this launch event, you also have the option of attending an identical event on Monday, September 19th at the same location and time.
The new DC Chapter of CAMP (www.camp-online.org) is launching! CAMP’s mission is “to facilitate and inspire the development of Muslim professionals to become exemplary leaders committed to advancement through action.” As we progressively become stronger leaders this leads to more success at work and in life. This also allows us to apply our leadership capabilities, individually and collectively, to positively influence outcomes and inspire others within our community.
If this resonates with you come meet other like-minded Muslim professionals during our first networking event. In addition, come learn about (and help influence) various future initiatives we hope to provide to CAMP-DC members based on sufficient demand, such as
Events for all members:
o Power Hour – For these after business hours events (10X per year) we will bring in a featured speaker for a brief presentation and invite attendees to engage in a lively topical discussion followed by casual networking.
o Morning Coffee Meet-up – Once a month as you are on your way to work in the morning stop by to meet other CAMP-DC members.
Resources for all members:
o Facilitated access to relevant members. Pose a question that can help you and/or your business, and we will help you get connected to the right individual(s).
o Facilitated access to insightful articles on a broad range of topics.
Opportunities for women members: Special events and resources catering exclusively to CAMP-DC’s women professionals.
Events for entrepreneurs and senior executives: Monthly breakfasts, lunches and/or dinners. This will be a great opportunity to learn from others who understand first-hand the challenges that come with leading an organization. There is also the potential to find opportunities to do business with each other or receive/provide valuable referrals.
Given the high quality and diversity of Muslim professionals across the DC metro area, we are very excited about the significant potential for what CAMP-DC can achieve as we grow and prosper together. We look forward to your participation.
