CAMP's History

The Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP) was founded in 1994 in Chicago as a face-to-face networking organization. Its tagline was ‘many professionals. One network.’ Over the years, CAMP has grown from a one-city organization to a multi-city organization, and from a networking organization to a professional association.

CAMP currently has a membership base of approximately 7,500 professionals across the United States, and has a physical presence in five locations – Chicago, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. CAMP plans to grow its virtual presence in 2013 to reach out members outside of the five chapter locations.
